Testimonials

"Hunting partners are tough to find, great hunting partners are once in a lifetime."  South Cox built me a hunting partner of a lifetime!

I always look for two things when purchasing a traditional bow.  The first is bow performance and the second is bowyer service.  Being fortunate enough to hunt year round means that I have no down time, so dealing with a company with both attributes is essential to my success in the field. Smooth shooting, quick, quiet and easy to point are my impressions of the bow's performance.

Friendly, knowledgeable, meticulous and dependable describes South and the service he provides at Stalker Recurves. He is easy to work with and is always willing to accommodate to the needs of his customers. Stalker Recurves comes with an added bonus of aesthetics.  Stunning woodwork, attention to detail and clean lines describe the beauty of my "Striker" model.  South has exceeded my expectations in every way!

Bowhunting is an essential part of my life, and I rely on Stalker Recurves!

I have been shooting traditional archery for 35 years and am very  picky about the bow I shoot.  My Stalker Striker Recurve is as smooth  and as consistent as any bow I have ever owned or shot.

Since my new  Striker arrived all my other bows have collected dust.  The  craftsmanship is second to none South has produces a true work of
art.  I would recommend a Stalker bow to anyone who demands the best.

I've been hunting with a bow for 54 seasons/years. In that time I've found "A few" bows that I thought were a new standard,,,,,,I went to those bows as my new hunting partner. Mind you, most bows that I have shot have been ok bows, some of my favorite are the old Howatts, Wings and Bears, I still enjoy shooting them but, these bows have long been replaced as my hunting partner. The bow I have been shooting up to now has served me well the past 12 or more years and quite frankly I didn't think I would ever find another bow that would shoot as well, for sure not better.

I have one think to tell you about the Stalker Striker bow that you sent me to try. This will be my new hunting partner, you won't get it back. I have been very pleased with the speed of the bow, it's definitely quicker than anything I have shot to date. The impressive thing was, the extra speed did not show up in the performance, in regard to smoothness and hand shock. There is no hand shock, which makes the bow completely forgiving. The smoothness of draw is commented on by all that have shot it but, the first thing out of everyone's mouth is "how in creditably quite" it shoots. My personal  favorite features is, the way it fit's my hand. It is without question the most comfortable feeling bow in my shooting hand that I have ever shot.

I thank you for the opportunity to try your bow. It has become my new hunting partner.

Bowhunting for me began 33 years ago -- wielding a recurve bow.  My first game was taken with recurve.  Some of my most notable archery trophies have come by way of a trusty traditional bow.  Through the years I've had the opportunity to handle a huge variety of single-string models, from the cheapest pawn-shop beaters to the most expensive carbon/foam-limbed target bows available.  I can honestly say my Stalker shoots right up there with the smoothest, most forgiving recurves I've ever shot.
It's also remarkably fast.

I received my Stalker in the middle of hunting season.  Understandably, I wanted to play with my new toy, but quickly found I would have to bump arrow weight 100 grains to maintain the sight picture and trajectory I'd become accustomed to with the custom recurve preceding it.

Within days I'd stalk and shoot a fall turkey with my Stalker, harbinger of good things to come.  Later that fall I received complete pass-throughs on an 800-pound brown bear; hit a string-jumping Idaho doe in the hind quarter, driving to her opposite shoulder; blasted through the shoulder blade of a quartering-to Nebraska buck, the arrow exiting behind the last rib on the opposite flank, dropping to the ground.
a accomplished all of this while pulling only 54 pounds to 30 inches...
Finally, I've never owned a bow more beautiful.  It's a bow that inspires pride, stands out in a crowd.
I I own a lot of recurve bows.  My Stalker is now my number-one.

My good friend Charlie Bisharat made me my first Stalker Recurve in 1989. I have been hooked on traditional archery since. I now have five Stalker Recurves and two Stalker longbows. I just recentley received a new Stalker Recurve in the mail handcrafted by South Cox. When I first ordered it I wondered if it would show up looking like a club. Atleast that is what most first year boyers bows look like. No rough edges, doesn't stack, no sanding marks or blemishes to the glass. It is one of the nicest bows I own.  I can't wait to hunt with it this year. Well done South; I cant wait to see the new longbow!

I've been shooting one of South's Stalkers for several months now and I can tell you without hesitation, I love it.

It has everything I look for in a custom made bow. Its smooth on the draw. Its very shootable and extremely fast. But what I really love about my Stalker is how "shooter friendly" it is.

Simply put...it shoots where I aim! South's craftsmanship is fantastic. His bows are absolutely beautiful to look at. His skill as a bowyer is quite obvious. Every detail is meticulous and I'm defintely a fan of Stalker bows! If you're looking for a truly great custom made bow. One that combines beauty with excellent performance...then
take a good look at a Stalker Recurve!
